After coaching Lionel Messi at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus?
Italian journalist Luigi Guelpa is the
prime source of the news while media houses in Italy are also suggesting that a
move is highly possible. Guelpa is suggesting of a four-year-deal between the
Spaniard and the Turin-based club, with Massimiliano Allegri also publicly
admitting that he fancies a move abroad in the near future.
There's hardly a doubt of Pep Guardiola's ability as a
manager. Having done splendidly well with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the
Spaniard has already won his first Premier League title with Manchester City.
After arriving in England in 2016, Guardiola could be on his way out as early
as 2019, with a move to Italian giants Juventus looming large. If the switch
materialises, all hell will break loose in the football world, considering the
man who rates Lionel Messi as the ultimate No. 1 will be coaching his biggest
rival Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ahead of the start of the 2018-19 season, Guardiola had put
pen to paper, signing a new deal that keeps him at the club till the end of
2020-21 season. The extension came as a result of a historic EPL title that the
Cityzens won under Guardiola the previous season as the team became the first
English side to breach the 100-point barrier.
While
Pep isn't seen as a manager who would leave terminate his contract midway,
especially considering the sort of respect and support he gets in Manchester,
rumours of his 'verbal agreement' with Juventus over a transfer in the summer
are ripe in the European media.

Radio CRC quoted Guelpa as saying: "I’ve
learned that Pep Guardiola already has reached a verbal agreement with Juventus
for the next four years. It's the same person who told me that Ronaldo was
going to Juventus."
The 48-year-old former Barcelona boss remains one of the
most respected football coaches in the world, with virtually every top
club in Europe and player willing to work with him. The move to Juventus,
especially considering the current scenario at the club, is still highly
doubtful considering the club recently splashed a huge sum to bring Ronaldo to
Italy.
Even the type of players Juventus presently have aren't
exactly the type which would fit in directly under Guardiola. More so, Pep has
brought in quite a few players to Manchester City in the recent transfer
windows to assemble a squad that would help him win titles. It remains to be
seen how the story develops in the next few months.
