David de Gea opens up on Blunder in Spain‘s 3-3 draw against Portugal.
David de Gea says that Cristiano Ronaldo‘s second goal in Spain‘s 3-3 draw against Portugal was a difficult shot to save, even though the ball headed straight towards his gloves.
Ronaldo lit up the tournament on Friday evening when he netted a hat-trick during the Iberian derby which ended 3-3 in Sochi.

Despite the Manchester United ‘keeper’s blunder – which he’s done before at club level – the 27-year-old insists he feels good about the result despite acknowledging what he did wrong.
“I was late to plant my knee and the ball was a horrible one, but I haven’t killed anyone,” de Gea told Football Espana.
“I’m feeling good and calm, we had a good match.
“I’m happy about the team’s response, although I think we deserved more. Now we have to get up again.”
When asked about the fumble, the Spaniard appeared blasé about the whole affair.
“My mistake? Football’s like that, it can happen. They’re mistakes. We put on our gloves, we go out on the pitch and we know how difficult it is.
“Still, I have the support of my coach and teammates to keep going, and that support they give me is reflected on the field.”
He added: “The coach is with me and the whole team. I’m calm, it’s a mistake that can happen. It was a difficult ball, but I’ll keep training and doing things well. I haven’t killed anyone.
“Our response was great. We played against a great national team, but that’s that. It’s in the past now.”
Spain’s next game is against Iran on 20 June. Their final game of the group stages is against Morocco five days later.
One positive was Diego Costa’s double, his first two goals at a World Cup.
